The design of ball mill liners has always been a more reasonable design concept in China. Combining with the actual needs of users, the design of equipment liners is more matched. To improve the experience of ball mills, this article mainly introduces more reasonable maintenance measures for the lining plates of ball mills.

 

The design of ball mill liners is the most direct theoretical principle for liner production enterprises. The correctness and practicality of the design concept directly determine the buyer's experience in various aspects of using ball mill equipment. If there is a deviation in the design or if the practicality is average, it will have a certain impact on various aspects such as grinding efficiency, production efficiency, difficulty in operation, and replacement of accessories during the use process.

 

Therefore, here are some principles and precautions for the design of the ball mill lining plate, which have guiding significance for design units, foundries, processing plants, and operators. Below, we will briefly introduce some precautions in the design of ball mill liners.

 

1. The lining plate of the ball mill should not be too heavy, and the weight of each piece should preferably be below 60 kg to reduce the labor intensity of installation.

 

2. The number of circumferential blocks Z of the lining plate should be taken as a multiple of 100mm, and the size of the circumferential arc should not be too large or too small. At present, the unified circumferential size in China is 314mm.

 

3. The nominal size of the axial length of the lining plate is selected as an integer multiple of 50mm. The values of circumferential and axial dimensions should be based on the principle of easy access from the manhole during installation and disassembly. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider that the bolt holes should not be opened too much to avoid weakening the strength of the cylinder. The axial length is about 500mm, and the half length is about 250mm.

 

4. The average thickness of the lining plate of the ball mill is 40-50mm. For fine grinding silos, the thickness of the lining plate can also be reduced to increase the effective volume of the mill.

 

5. Due to the geometric deviation of the casting itself and the allowance for impact deformation, a gap of 5-8mm should be left around the lining plate. The actual size of the lining plate is determined by subtracting the reserved gap from the nominal size.

 

6. When inlaying lining plates in the fine grinding bin (without bolts), the size should be as small as possible. In addition, some narrow "filler pieces" should be designed with a width of 2/3, 1/3, or 1/2 of the standard width, for use in wedging the joints when inlaying the lining plate.

 

7. The selection of the working surface curve of the ball mill lining plate should be based on the principles of promoting grinding, easy manufacturing, easy replacement, and minimal wear. At the same time, the types of lining plates should be minimized to reduce the types of wooden molds and reduce manufacturing costs.
