How to select high-quality crusher jaws and understand the characteristics of jaw crushers of different materials is the key.

 

Jaw crusher is an indispensable coarse crushing equipment in mining crushing production lines, usually used for primary crushing of materials. The jaw crusher is composed of a working chamber composed of a moving and fixed jaw, which bears enormous crushing force and material friction, and is prone to wear. In order to protect the jaw plate, wear-resistant lining plates are installed on the surface of the moving and fixed jaw, also known as crushing plates (commonly referred to as jaw plates). Below, we will briefly introduce the characteristics of different materials of jaw crusher jaw plates.

 

1、 High manganese steel: It is a traditional material for the jaw plate of a jaw crusher, which has good toughness and deformation hardening ability. The characteristic of high manganese steel is that it is wear-resistant and has high hardness. It is very agile for crushing general materials, whether it is for crushing stone or minerals, it is a good equipment.

 

2、 Medium manganese steel: Due to its low initial hardness and yield strength, under non strong impact conditions, the work hardening of high manganese steel is not sufficient, making it easy to flow and be cut. In order to improve the service life of the plate, medium manganese steel has been developed.

 

3、 Composite of high chromium cast iron and high manganese steel: Although high chromium cast iron is an excellent wear-resistant material, due to its poor toughness, it will directly shatter or deform with very few times when subjected to material impact or compression, resulting in peeling off. Therefore, using high chromium cast iron as a jaw may not necessarily achieve good performance. In recent years, high chromium cast iron has been used to cast or bond onto high manganese steel plates to form composite plates, fully utilizing the high wear resistance of high chromium cast iron and the high toughness of high manganese steel, significantly improving the service life of the plates.

 

4、 Low alloy cast steel: Medium carbon low alloy cast steel is currently a widely used wear-resistant material, mainly due to its high hardness and appropriate toughness, which can resist the cutting effect of materials and fatigue peeling caused by repeated extrusion, thus exhibiting good wear resistance. At the same time, medium carbon low alloy cast steel can also adjust its composition and heat treatment process to achieve a wide range of changes in hardness and toughness to meet the requirements of different working conditions.
